Invasion of the flying fish, pancakes and big rollers
Last night was the most rolly yet! Big swells from different directions and 20-22 knots with higher gusts of wind! The content of the boat was shifting back and forth creating a lot of noise! I padded a lot of the contents and made a few mental notes of ways to keep pots and pans quieter ! The mast was clicking a lot as well! Not the best sleeping conditions. We took down the BWR around 10pm and switched to just the mainsail … slower and off course but a tiny bit more comfortable and much safer at night when hand steering in big waves is tough.

the pancakes were eaten so fast I never got a picture !

Did you share your AIS # somewhere? It would be great to be able to follow your track. Are you really fishing from the foredeck?

Your blog notes are so exciting! I can’t imagine seeing a flying fish on board in a cabin room. Congratulations getting back to the Americas! Is a Panama Canal crossing in the plan? - Lily
Congratulations on your arrival. Quite a trip so far. Stan
I am seeing your current location. You’re so close to my country, Venezuela. I don’t recommend going to the mainland but maybe by boat is ok to go to these beautiful archipelago called Los Roques. Maybe you’ll see it on your way around there. Look it up. “Los Roques National Park is a Venezuelan archipelago around 160 kilometers north of the capital Caracas in the Caribbean Sea. The protected area contains more than 300 islands and cays surrounding a 400-sq.-km lagoon. The archipelago’s coral reef is popular with snorkelers and scuba divers. The park is renowned for its isolated, white-sand beaches, windsurfing, fishing and sailing.”
