Gratitude
The last few months have been a whirlwind of planning and preparing for this new adventure in our life. There were quite a few unexpected setbacks that threatened to change our plans but we kept looking at the end goal and being positive that we would end up as a healthy crew onboard our new home.
Needless to say such work could not have happened without the help and support of our community, close and far. I feel so grateful everyday!
I am thankful for our neighbors on Carmelita St for a warm send off and the promise to help Sarah, our tenant, with anything that comes up.
Thankful for Bob & Felix for teaching Adam how to bake bread and giving us laminated recipes and a small kitchen scale.
Thankful for my close friends who helped in the last couple weeks with organizing, cleaning and who lend an ear whenever i felt a little overwhelmed (you know who you are)
Thankful for our school. As we were thinking about how Seth would be schooled for his first year of middle school, our school, FAIS (French American International School) helped us figure out what is important and teachers we had not met yet, sent us the curriculum, lists and resources. Some even gave us the books they will use. Having that framework made it so much easier to plan!
Thankful for our congregation who gave us great advice on how Seth can continue his Jewish Learning Journey, from using Duolingo to learn Hebrew to ideas on connecting with others in the world and learning their different traditions.
Thankful for so many more small interactions and gifts.... a beautiful keychain engraved with 'Saltair', a good luck folded bill, seasickness medication, a lucky pearl, organized daily products...
Merci aussi à ma famille et leur soutien. Je reçois beaucoup de petits messages qui me font chaud au coeur.
Finally thankful for my amazing husband Adam for his patience, support and inspiration. We would not be embarking on this adventure without him.

Hey Guillemette… Your Gratitude piece was lovely. Yes, life can be challenging. Keeping our blessings in mind is crucial. Safe journey. (I still can’t wrap my head around the actuality of this journey and can’t begin to imagine all that goes into the planning and the persevering!!) Love to you three!! ❤️🧡❤️🧡❤️🧡
Sounds like a fabulous time you are having and what an experience for Seth. Tell him he will get his birthday gift when you all return…whenever that would be. Wish Seth a happy birthday from Len and I on his day. Be well and stay safe.
You always see the best in everything! Can't wait to watch all of. your adventures celebrations to come this year! What an amazing adventure!
So beautifully said. I think we all need to remember to be grateful everyday. There are so many things we can appreciate big and small each day. I am missing you already - each day in the park when I have to lead the workout! :)
Wonderful and thoughtful reflection.
Miss you every Monday and Wednesday and every time I walk by your house (every day) 😂 I am excited to read more about your adventures! PS: I just stared with Spanish duolingo with Tomas. He’s engaged! So far so good!
